On Friday we had a special guest visit us who has been a midwife for most of her life. She told us about her work and then showed us her trade. Parteras (midwives) and sobadoras (masseuse) are often one and the same. They provide before and after care for pregnant women, help people who have hernias or stomach issues and realign organs. Here are some images of the workshop. After the workshop, we all gathered on the patio to cut the Rosca de Reyes, the traditional sweet bread to commemorate the arrival of the 3 wise men.
